Information

Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse bring a fresh, modern take on ancient traditions; merging evocative sounds, natural acoustic instruments and poignant stories with an incredible, beautiful voice.

Guitar brilliance and incandescent vocals. These exceptional performers connect and capture audiences all over the world through the power of song. And it’s made even more special when it’s sung in rare Noongar language.

By official records, Noongar language is critically endangered, with less than 400 speakers left. Gina and Guy prefer to call the language “Limited Edition” and are on a mission to reach as many people as they possibly can to share this language and secure its future for generations to come.

As well as four albums, they have released three major works; Koort for the Festival of Perth, Koorlangka: Reimagined for the inaugural Perth International Cabaret Festival and Koolbardi wer Wardong for a sell-out season for the West Australian Opera.  This year they premiered their latest major work, Wundig wer Wilura, commissioned by the West Australian Opera, to critical acclaim.

Gina and Guy have been described as stunning artists, whose music is a celebration of life, community and a shared humanity. They are thrilled to be returning to Cardiff, where Gina was first inspired to pursue music as a pathway to language revival. Performing with the all-important blessings of Gina’s elders and her community, this duo will leave you breathless!
