Dave Kelly – founder member of The Blues Band, and a stalwart of the British Blues Scene, having cut his teeth in the backing bands of Howlin Wolf and John Lee Hooker as well as playing with Buddy Guy, Son House & Muddy Waters. The Blues Band have released about 20 albums, and Dave has 15 either solo or with his own Dave Kelly Band Christine Collister – Came to prominence originally in the UK folk scene in the eighties, singing the title song for the BBC drama series ‘Life & Loves Of A She Devil’. She was in Richard Thompson’s touring Band 85’-’88 as vocalist and acoustic guitarist.’84-’90 saw 5 acclaimed albums with Clive Gregson with many, varied and successful collaborations since: Daphne’s Flight; Hell Bent Heaven Bound; Wild Honey Orchestra; Iain Matthews; Loudon Wainwright III; solo and duo work with a further 15 albums and counting! Christine & Dave recorded a session for The Paul Jones Radio Two show in 1994\. A fan recently gave Dave a copy of that recording. Dave thought it sounded great and forwarded a copy to Christine. They decided to get together again and do some more shows. Their material is drawn from both their musical backgrounds, but mainly covering songs which they both love but have not previously had an opportunity to perform, within their usual formats. Some soul standards, country songs, rock, folk & blues, Stax, Tamla, The Band, Emmylou Harris, The Everly Brothers, Elvis, ( to name but a few) as well as some great contemporary writers and of course, their own songs. It’s been a number of years since Dave and Christine had the opportunity to perform together however when the invitation to play at Vancouver Island Festival was extended they grabbed the chance. Drawing from their mutual love of classic rock, pop, country, jazz and blues Christine and Dave dive head long and full throttle into the songs they love. Their combined passion, talent and fun-loving personalities bring a natural warmth and great charm to their performances. Vancouver was a huge success, and they are now touring the UK with their fabulous concert. “Christine Hollister a voice personally delivered by God.” The Times “Christine Collister has a killer voice. As full as Dusty Springfield or as blue as Alison Moyet” Froots
