“Only a vastly talented songwriter produces such works . . . ” Eric Myers / The Australian
We are delighted to welcome back Frances Madden, one of Australia’s most talented young singer-songwriters and piano players, and her all-star band to Acapela. Her last show at Acapela was one of the highlights of 2025.
Frances and her band perform regularly to capacity crowds in London – her recent show at the renown Ronnie Scotts club sold out two months in advance. In the same week, Frances and her band also featured on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ with a live set and interview. Frances’ live show features her genuinely warm stage presence along with a voice and style that are uniquely her own. Her set effortlessly weaves originals and classics with flavours of jazz, blues and soul – all with a broadly adult contemporary appeal. This special event will also feature some of London’s most talented musicians. As well as Frances on vocals and piano, the show will include:
Rob Updegraff on guitar
Tom Mason on bass
Mez Clough on drums
Frances has been fortunate to work with some impressive people in the industry. She’s supported the legendary Dionne Warwick and Grammy Award winner Gregory Porter, and performed live in concert with jazz genius James Morrison. Her album ‘Beautiful World’ (2020) was produced by ARIA Award winner Chong Lim (Olivia Newton-John) and earned five nominations in the Australian Songwriting Awards.
Frances has developed a growing international fan base with songs inspired by personal experiences that connect deeply with her audience. Frances will soon release a new 6-track EP recorded in London with Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Cameron Craig (Adele, Katie Melua). “Frances’ music is a river of original and heartfelt material, truly a creative force as a genuine contemporary songwriter.”
